Secure your spot on the workshop floor for 2026

Our final 2025 builds are under construction with sawdust in the air, clamps tight, and the workshop humming in the lead-up to Christmas.
Current orders are scheduled for completion in February 2026, making now the perfect time to visit our combined showroom and workshop.
Smell the woodchips, gain inspiration from the pieces on the floor, and start planning a design crafted to align with your home.
Product orders continue year-round, but our custom co-creations are limited to two new clients per month, ensuring every detail gets our full attention..

Built Furniture workshop process

The best homes (and furniture) take time to design

The workshop moves in rhythm

2025 builds are already on the floor and next years commissions are being designed now.

Every piece gets its moment under the clamps

Our workshop books months in advance so each project receives our full attention from start to finish.

Built in sync with your home

Planning now means your furniture will be crafted to align with your homes completion, not delivered as an afterthought.

The Built process

From first sketch to final install, we make the process calm, clear and considered.

01 / Come in and smell the woodchips

Step into our combined showroom and workshop to experience our collections, explore finishes and see craftsmanship in motion.

02 / Design your piece

Every piece starts with intention. We’ll guide you through spatial planning, provide templates, 3D imagery and timber samples so you can visualise every detail before we begin.

03 / Built on the Workshop Floor

Once your design is approved, its handed over to our makers. Each piece is built from solid timber, shaped, joined and finished right here in Adelaide. No shortcuts, just craftsmanship, dust and time on the tools.

04 / Delivery & Installation

When your piece is complete, the hands who crafted it personally delivers and installs it ensuring the same care in placement and final detail as in the build itself.

Episode 2
IN TIMBER WE CHAT with Emma from @1k_chairs

Emma is a passionate advocate for local furniture and widely known as Adelaide’s queen of chairs.

Through 1K Chairs, she’s spent many years working across high-end commercial and residential spaces, helping designers and homeowners find pieces that truly belong in their environment.

What stood out most to us is Emma’s passion for using timber in a way that carries meaning and creates connection with the person using it — a perspective that resonates deeply with us.

This series is about hearing how different people think about materials, and this conversation with Emma had us totally enthralled by her stories and knowledge… so much so that it could have easily turned into a full YouTube episode.

So pull up a chair and join the conversation, or send this to a friend who enjoys chatting timber.

Normal Friday activities at Built = blindfolding the boss and making him identify timber by smell.

Completely normal.

But honestly…
There’s something about walking into a workshop and being able to smell your furniture being made.

If that sounds like your kind of furniture journey…
Come smell the woodchips.

Some people look for dining tables while others seek something a little more.

A place where people naturally gather and meals are only a small part of the story.

Homework gets spread out.
Projects begin.
Conversations run longer than planned.
Celebrations happen without needing a reason.

Furniture from the workshop floor feels different. It’s a piece you connect with, not just something you buy. It comes with a story of creation and works as hard as you do. Not just at dinner time but in the moments that quietly shape family life.

It doesn’t just hold plates, but the rhythm and soul of a home.

In Timber We Trust.
